Information we keep

We try to keep only what a feature actually needs. At the moment that means:

• Account basics: nickname, how you signed in (and the email if you used one), the birth year you entered, plus your settings.
• Anything you add to your profile, like a picture or a couple of lines about yourself, along with your follows and followers.
• Messages sent through CallMeChat to people you follow.
• Call records: the time of each call, its type (random match or private call) and its length.
• Purchases of coins, gifts or VIP, with the confirmation our payment provider sends us. Your full card number stays with that provider.
• Reports filed by you or against you, and any notes reviewers attach while handling them.
• Technical data like IP address, browser and device type, and error logs, used to keep the service running and to detect abuse.

Live video and audio

Calls happen in real time between two people. The call records described above are what we keep about a call. The other person, however, controls their own device and could record their screen, which is outside our control; please keep that in mind on every call.

Why we use it

• Pairing you with other callers and keeping calls running.
• To keep your coins, follows and settings attached to your account.
• Checking reports, applying the community guidelines and stopping fraud.
• To process purchases and handle refund requests.
• Fixing bugs and seeing overall usage patterns, never individual calls for their own sake.

Who else sees it

Other callers see your nickname, your camera, your country and anything you add to your profile. Payment providers see what they need to complete a purchase. Service providers that host and operate CallMeChat process data on our behalf. Information may also be disclosed where a legal obligation applies or where a person's safety is at risk. We do not sell personal data.

Retention

Account information is held until the account is closed. Report and payment records can outlive it when needed for disputes, repeat-abuse prevention or legal duties. Technical logs are short-lived and get removed or stripped of identifiers.

Your choices

You can edit your profile at any time. To get a copy of your data or have your account deleted, email [email protected] from your account address, or include your nickname. Deleting an account also removes unused coins and VIP time. More on contacting us is on the contact page.

Adults only

Nobody under 18 may use CallMeChat. Accounts found to belong to a minor are shut down.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data in a meaningful way, we update this page and its date. Continuing to use CallMeChat after that means the updated policy applies.
