How CallMeChat works
Everything that happens between tapping start and your fifth great call: the matching video call, the call screen, next, follows, private calls, coins, the Reward Center and reporting. Read it once and nothing on the call screen will surprise you.
before the first call
Nothing to install, nothing to fill in
CallMeChat works from any modern browser, phone, tablet and desktop alike. When you arrive you are given a guest account and a nickname in the background, so you can go straight to a call. A photo and a short profile are optional, and you can add them later or never. Everyone on CallMeChat has confirmed they are 18 or older.
On your first tap of start, the browser requests camera and microphone access. A random video call needs both, so allow them when you are ready and in a spot where you are happy to be seen.

Tap start and the queue finds someone
Tapping start puts you in the match queue. The queue looks for another person who is waiting in the same moment and connects the two of you in a matching video call. With 27,418 people online, the wait is usually short, though it varies with the time of day.
You do not choose who you get, and they do not choose you either. That randomness is the whole appeal: people you would never find by searching end up on your screen.

What the call screen looks like
The other person fills the screen, and your own camera sits in a small window in the corner so you can check what they see. Their nickname and the country they are calling from appear on screen; nothing more precise, never a city or an address. They see the same about you.
Only the two of you are on the call. There is no audience and no third person joining in. Talking face to face like this is the point, and a chat over video is simply the fastest way to tell whether you get along with someone.

Skipping is normal here
Next closes the call on both screens together, and the queue finds your next person. You do not have to explain, and neither does the other person. Skipping a few calls before one clicks is completely normal.
Next is also the quickest exit when a call feels wrong. Leave first, think later; you can still report the person after the call has ended.
Next ends the call instantly for both sides and never tells the other person why.

Follow, then call again on purpose
The random queue almost never reunites two people by itself. If a call is worth repeating, open that person's profile and follow them before you move on. Following costs nothing.
Anyone you follow shows up in Who's online whenever they are active. From there you can request a private call, which is still one on one but chosen by you rather than the queue. Private calls use coins.
- During or right after the call, open their profile.
- Tap follow.
- Later, check Who's online and request a private call when they are there.

Coins, VIP and gifts
You do not pay to begin. A new account gets free matches, and after that extra matches use coins. Private calls are paid in coins too, and so are gifts, little optional extras sent mid-call. VIP is a separate optional membership with its perks and price shown in the app.
Just above the match button you will find the Reward Center: stay online, let it fill, then tap Claim for free matches or coins; it refills for further claims the same day. The complete list of what is free is on is CallMeChat free.
when a call goes bad
Report and block from the call screen
Report and block sit on the call screen for the whole call. Report sends the account to a review team with the call details, and accounts that ignore the community guidelines risk losing access. Block means the queue will not match you with that person again.

You tap start and CallMeChat connects you to one random person in a live video call. Talk as long as you like, tap next to meet someone else, and follow anyone you want to call again.
How does the matching video call pick people?
It is random. The queue pairs you with someone who is waiting in the same moment, so neither of you picks the other.
Can someone else join my call?
No. Every call is one on one, and nobody else can join or watch.
What does the other person see about me?
Your camera, your nickname and the country you are calling from. Not your email, your real name or your city.
Can I call the same person again?
Yes, if you follow them. Followed people are listed in Who's online while active, and you can request a private call from there using coins.
Do I need to sign up to use CallMeChat?
No. You can call as a guest immediately. Signing in later keeps coins and follows attached to an account.
Is a chat over video safe for beginners?
It can be, if you keep personal details off camera and leave any call that makes you uncomfortable. Next, report and block are always one tap away.
What are coins used for?
Extra matches after your free ones, private calls and optional gifts. Next, follow, report and block never cost anything.
What is the Reward Center?
A counter above the match button that fills while you stay online. When it is full you claim free matches or coins, and it can be claimed several times a day.
